What I Do
Above all, I’m a storyteller, but I put that skill to use in a variety of ways. Here’s a little more information on each of them:
Theater Direction
As a director, I’m most interested in projects that allow me to put my strong dramaturgy skills to use, such as the development of new plays and musicals and the reimagining of classics. Favorite directing credits include Here We Dance, an immersive theatrical fairytale party, Other Girls, a feminist cabaret, a lab of Songs for Slutty Girls by Kailey Marshall, and Strangers, a new play by Gili Malinsky.
Writing for the Stage
As a theater writer, I write both plays and musicals (book and lyrics), and random things like a speech for Billy Porter to perform in the Broadway for Biden event In Our America: A Concert for the Soul of the Nation. Most recently, my play The Moss Maidens, won Best Play and Best Ensemble at the SheNYC Summer Theater Festival. The production was written up in NY Jewish Week and New Voices Magazine.
Dramaturgy and Script Consulting
I specialize in narrative structure for theater, film, and TV; during my time as a Development Associate for the production company Crocodile Eyes, co-founder Jenny Mudge referred to me as “like a surgeon for scripts.” I also offer sensitivity consulting for Jewish characters and stories. My work was most recently seen on The Great Gatsby: The Immersive Show, on which I consulted on the Meyer Wolfsheim character. I spoke to Alexis Soloski at The New York Times about my work on it.
Film and Television Writing
After spending a few years serving as Director’s Assistant on the MGM feature film Respect and Development Associate for director Liesl Tommy and actor Jennifer Mudge’s new production company Crocodile Eyes, I’m now seeking development for my own pilots and features.
Ghost Ship Murder Mysteries
In 2016, I co-founded murder mystery party company Ghost Ship Murder Mysteries with fellow director-playwright Lindsay Carpenter. Our interactive experiences, which feature intricate storylines in six unique themes, have been written up in several major national publications and played internationally.
